Low Poh San & Jenny Quek
Pioneers of Ballroom Dancing in Singapore
Well-known as 'Singapore's Father of ballroom dancing', the late Mr Low Poh San and his wife Jenny Quek founded Poh San Dance Studio in 1937. Their children Sunny Low and Betty Low became household names and were crowned King and Queen of Rock 'n' Roll in 1957.

Sunny Low took up dancing at the age of 14, learning the art of ballroom dancing from his Father, the late Low Poh San.
Sunny and Aleena were one of the founding members of the Singapore Ballroom Dance Teachers Association (SBDTA). Most of our local Singapore teachers were former students of Mr Sunny Low and many consider him to be Singapore's Dance Icon. They are still actively teaching and imparting their valuable knowledge to dancers around the world.

Enter the third generation from the family of 'Low' dancers. Alvyn and Melvyn Low were Professional Standard Ballroom Champions. Today , Jovyn and Cindy Low - Youngest Son and Daughter-in-law of Mr Sunny Low - takes pride in continuing the family legacy of ballroom dancing. They have had the priviledge of learning from their senior family members and from various champions from around the world. Apart from teaching, competing and performing, Jovyn and Cindy also spend their time in upgrading their dance skills and knowledge.
Jovyn and Cindy started dancing together since 2010 and have achieved many titles from National and International Championships around the region;

Jovyn first started latin dance at the age of 10. His love for dance did not stop there as he began to show interest in other genres such as Hip Hop dancing. He fell in love with Standard ballroom at the age of 17 and began training for national and International competitions locally and around the region. Jovyn has competed with various partners from beginner level to amateur rising star. Being a seasoned competitor, Jovyn competes with his students and have achieved podium finishes in teacher student categories and even amateur categories. Jovyn has conducted the ballroom dancing modules at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), is currently teaching at Tanah Merah Country Club and is the head coach of the National University of Singapore(NUS) Standard Ballroom Team. He is also a Resident Teacher at Sunny Low Dance Production Studio.
Cindy Low

Cindy has always shown interest in dancing. She started children's ballet at the age of 8. At the age of 15, she started jazz ballet at the Singapore Dance Theatre. Cindy started ballroom dancing soon after, and in 2009, She co-founded the ballroom dancing club 'Ballare' at the Singapore Management University (SMU). She has been training competitively in standard ballroom dancing ever since. While active in competing, Cindy is currently the Dance events coordinator at Sunny Low Dance Production Studio. She is also the official distributor of Dancelife Shoes and Chrisanne Clover Dancewear and Merchandise in Singapore and South East Asia.
